Park Street
Park Street, Bristol
This shopping street defines Bristol’s independent appeal, with shops ranging from BS8, a unisex street-fashion shop, to Diana Porter, an avant-garde independent jeweller, and a number of bars and restaurants too. Start at the bottom and stop at Swinkie’s for a cupcake and some unusual imported sweets, then progress up to the top, where you’ll find the reasonably-priced and brilliantly-stocked Oxfam Bookshop, plus Jamie’s Italian, leading on to the higher priced shops at Clifton Triangle (Space NK, Patisserie Valerie and Sweaty Betty are just three of them). This being the posh part of town, the charity shops are usually full of bargains – Oxfam Originals on Park Street is always worth a browse. If you’re looking for more uniquely Bristol offerings, veer off Park Street before you get to the Triangle and head down Park Row for gift shops, interiors shops and small art galleries.
