Tehidy Country Park
Nr Portreath Cornwall TR14 0EZ
What with its abundance of beaches and wild moors, Cornwall isn’t renowned for its woods and country parks. But as Tehidy – the largest area of woodland in West Cornwall – proves, the county’s natural treasures aren’t all down to its pristine coastline. Tehidy Country Park sprawls across 250 acres of lush woodland, with walking and biking trails, a wildlife pond, rope swings and plenty of trees to climb. Most of the well-marked trails are buggy friendly and dogs are welcome in most of the estate, with the exception of the designated wildlife area. Whether you want to build a den, forage for fungi, feed the ducks, spot squirrels and swans, or take a serious stomp or cycle ride around the longer trails, Tehidy serves a dose of the Great Outdoors for all abilities, ages and energy levels. The café (at the main South Drive entrance), serves delicious homemade cakes and snacks, and is open daily, except Mondays in mid-winter.
