Located a stone's throw from Gyllyngvase Beach, Falmouth, St Michaels Resort is inspired by its surroundings – the calming sea blues and sandy hues that flow across the interiors of the hotel. The nautical-themed design emphasizes the hotel’s focus on tranquillity, coupled with the notion that your stay here will be as hassle-free and indulgent as you desire.

Having won various awards for its hospitality and spa, the hotel has a plethora of activities and foodie options to enjoy onsite before you even think of exploring the town. They have a health club (with spinning room, gig-rowing area, spacious gym and pool) and a world-class spa, making it much more than just a place to stay, although the guest rooms and suites are particularly well-appointed, with high-quality beds and linen, WiFi and flatscreen TVs, tea- and coffee-making facilities and en-suite bathrooms with Elemis toiletries. Some have gorgeous sea views, super-kingsize beds, Smart TVs and floor-to-ceiling windows with their own terrace. Meanwhile, the Spa Garden Lodges sit in the sub-tropical gardens and come complete with outdoor bathtubs. The hotel also has some gorgeous self-catering apartments overlooking the sea.

St Michaels is also a particularly dog-friendly hotel – there are dog-friendly ground floor rooms are classically designed for a couple, and dog-friendly family rooms – and dogs can dine with you in the Garden Kitchen, for a lazy brunch or wood-fired pizza, or sit by your feet whilst reading the paper in the captain’s quarters-style library. Your dog can accompany you anywhere in the hotel and throughout the landscaped grounds, and even in an area of the main restaurant, Brasserie on the Bay, which serves fresh, locally sourced dishes in a relaxed, brasserie-style setting.

Finally, there's the hotel's position, right on 'Gylly Beach', which lies just beyond the St Michaels' sub-tropical gardens. A Blue Flag beach with clear, almost Mediterranean waters, there are lots of watersports activities on hand, including paddleboarding, kayaking and snorkelling, and of course it's a perfect place simply to laze and swim. You're also right on the South West Coast Path, and the hotel recommends a number of delightful circular walks, plus of course the rest of Falmouth is right there on your doorstep.
