If you want to check out work by some of Cornwall’s best-known artists, Beside the Wave is the gallery to head for. One of the county's best galleries for landscape art by local artists, it's a small venue crammed with paintings (and ceramics) by leading names such as Ted Dyer, Andrew Giddens, Paul Lewin and Benjamin Warner. Opened in 1989 it may be small but it has quickly become a real institution and regularly changing special exhibitions make it worth visiting whenever you're around. Keep an eye out as well for some of the eye-catching jewellery, locally made, of course, and wonderfully crafted.
