A foodie gem in the heart of Falmouth, the Courtyard Deli is tucked away from the main drag next to Beerwolf Books. Past baskets of fresh fruit and veg lined up by the door, you’ll find a traditional continental deli, bursting with flavours and aromas and with a counter stacked with sun-kissed tomatoes, plump green olives, cherryball peppers and bread baked on site, while another cabinet is stuffed with home-baked quiches, pastries, dips and salads. Choose from international specialities such as spanakopita (Greek feta and spinach pie in filo pastry) and tagines, homity pie, Cornish pilchards, topped flatbreads and deli sandwiches stuffed with the likes of Brie de Meaux or beetroot and walnut hummous. On a sunny day coffee-supping folk bask in the courtyard, while upstairs the sofas beckon you eat and drink by the fire. However, this isn’t just a coffee and lunch stop. Come evening the Courtyard Deli turns into Falmouth’s coolest tapas bar, serving up classic Spanish tapas dishes (patatas bravas, tortilla, boquerones) alongside excellent beers and wines.
