Let’s face it, stately homes are two-a-penny in the English countryside, but ones with rhinos grazing on the front lawn, big cats roaming and a virtual trip to Madagascar thrown in are few and far between. On the face of it Cotswold Wildlife Park is of course geared for families, with its wonderful collection of wildlife from all over the world, its narrow-gauge railway and great adventure playground, but anyone who likes a spot of zoology now and then will delight in an afternoon here – so much so that the Wildlife Park even offers ‘keeper for a day’ experiences for the over 18s. So whether your thing is a giraffe, a penguin, a stately home, or a train ride, this is a must-see Cotswold destination. There’s even a fair bit to see under cover, so don’t let inclement weather put you off.
