Vinegar Hill Pottery
The Pottery Vinegar Hill Milford On Sea SO41 0RZ
Partnered with its neighbouring B&B in a converted stable, Vinegar Hill Pottery provides the unusual - but delightful - combination of expertly run pottery courses with some of the finest accommodation in the county. David Rogers is the man at the wheel (the potting wheel that is) who provides patient tuition to budding ceramic craftsman regardless of whether you're a master sculptor or a malcoordinated travel writer with the uncanny ability to make everything flop over. By the end of the day you will have slipped and slithered your hands into making pots you will be proud of, enjoying fantastic food and company along the way. The master teacher does not come without his credentials either, David has a degree in Ceramics from Farnham Art College where he worked in the local pottery before becoming a professional potter in 1997. Since then he's produced both classic functional stoneware and one-off exhibition pieces that have been shown across the country at various exhibits and craft fairs. You don't have to be a guest in the B&B to enjoy one of the courses, which are either one day or three days long. They also have a maximum of six people per course allowing the class to be tailored to your skill level and giving David plenty of time to work with each individual, making sure you really get the most for your money.
