Hoveton Great Broad
Hoveton Great Broad
Like so many of the best spots on the Broads, you can only access Hoveton Great Broad from the river, and only visit on foot by following a laid-out nature trail. Part of the Bure Marshes National Nature Reserve, and managed by Natural England, the trail is lovely, taking you through wet woodland and swamp and providing one of the best opportunities you'll have of seeing a swallowtail butterfly – a species unique to the Broads – a variety of birdlife, including kingfishers, as well as lots of damsel- and dragonflies. You can reach Hoveton Great Broad with your own boat or by taking a ferry from Salhouse Broad.
