The Broads is well-known for its beautifully situated riverside pubs, and as far as location goes there's none better than The Swan, right on the been of the Bure in the pretty Broadland village of Horning. On a sunny day there's nothing better than to sit here watching the boats chugging along looking for a mooring or to clock the dinghy racers as they try to outflank each other on the bend. Inside, too, it's a cosy place, that serves a decent menu of pub classics and the odd special at reasonable prices. It can get very busy, and you might even be advised to avoid busy times if you're intending to eat – it can get swamped both by the boating folk and day-trippers to the village – but the food is reliably good and the service reasonable – something that can't be said of all Broads riverside pubs.
