No visit to York would be complete without joining one of the ghost hunts that explore the city’s spookiest corners every evening (whatever the weather). Dressed in Victorian garb, knowledgeable guides lead unwitting groups from the meeting point at the Shambles, through dark, narrow alleyways to eerie ancient houses, all the while recounting spine-chilling tales of murder, mystery, intrigue and scandal. The tours last approximately 1hr 10min, and they are wheelchair friendly.
