George and Danver
94 Street Aldates Oxford OX1 1BT
This little chain of three cafés (there are also branches in Little Clarendon Street and at the top end of Cowley Road) specialise in ice cream, with loads of good flavours, all made with fresh and natural ingredients. Their ice-cream cakes are unmissable – plenty of Oxford locals will go out for an Oxford meal then decamp to G&D’s for pud – and if you don’t want to go for their standard flavours, put in a special request for it and if enough other customers support it, they’ll have a bash.
