Alice’s Shop
83 St Aldates Oxford OX1 1RA
About as close to Wonderland as you’ll actually get in Oxford – this is just over the road from where Alice used to live and is chock full, as you can imagine, with Cheshire cats, bottles that say ‘Drink Me’, and many, many other Alice wares. Other quirky items on sale include: lockets, tea towels, pocket watches, paintings, bags, toys, games, cards, figurines, decorations and more. Phew! But, beware: it’s all crammed into this tiny shop, which you couldn’t swing a cat even if it had drunk a shrinking potion – it sometimes makes for a congested place to browse. Alice’s Shop also offers visitors tours of Oxford city – highlighting the places of interest once known to Lewis Carroll and Alice herself. Prices from £6.
