Rousham House & Garden
Rousham Bicester Oxfordshire OX25 4QU
The nation’s favourite gardener Monty Don lists Rousham as his favourite garden in the country. The grounds of this Elizabethan stately home were designed by landscape gardener William Kent and have been scarcely altered since he left it in the early 1700s. A world away from a National Trust garden, this place has no shop, no tearoom, and no children under 15 are welcome. It’s a 20-minute drive from central Oxford, or a 15-minute hop on the train to Heyford.
