South Parks Road Oxford OX1 3RF
This enormous public green space slap bang in the centre of the city is the perfect spot for a picnic, a chill-out, a brisk walk or gentle stroll. There are no swings and slides, but the wide open lawns more than make up for that in terms of hurtling. There’s access to the River Cherwell so plenty of entertainment in terms of watching the punters, too, especially if you take the beautiful Mesopotamia Walk in the far south-east of the park, which delivers you at the city centre end of Headington Road. Info leaflets at the Keble Road entrance will point you towards noteworthy areas.
