The White Hart
Wytham Oxford OX2 8QA
The problem with some of Oxford’s pubs is they’re all so busy, and sometimes the crowds can get a little too much.Situated in a tiny village called Wytham outside the city centre (but within walking distance), the White Hart is the perfect antidote, offering a relaxed atmosphere, alongside classic English pub grub and local award-winning ales. In winter, roaring wood-burning fires keep you cosy inside, while in the summer the pub’s small courtyard is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy a jug of Pimms… or two. The menu offers a range of classic dishes, from grilled sea bass, locally-sourced sausages or the good old fish and chips. It's not Michelin-starred restaurant, but the food is fresh, hearty and filling, in fact we guarantee you’ll be returning for more. In summer, the chef opens a barbecue area, cooking up cheap, flame-grilled food.
