WWF Living Planet Centre
The Living Planet Centre, Rufford House, Brewery Road, Woking
Housed in one of Britain's most eco-friendly buildings, the brand-spanking new Living Planet Centre is home to the innovative WWF Experience - which has nothing whatsoever to do with oversized blokes wearing inappropriate clothing while grappling with each other in a ring, but will have you wrestling with your conscience and figuring out ways that you can lessen the negative impact of your big stomping footprint on the world. Recently opened (by David Attenborough no less), the experience takes you through four interactive zones, each focusing on one key theme - forests, rivers, oceans and wildlife - using sensory props in an effort to demonstrate how it is possible for people to live in harmony with nature. Within each zone, visitors will experience first-hand the sights, sounds and even the smells of the natural environments the structure cleverly recreates. An exciting interactive exhibition, free for anyone to come and check out, it's designed to bring to life the secrets of the natural world, and the significant threats it faces. This is a working office for WWF and staff are busy saving the planet at desks through the ultra-green building, which features cutting edge design throughout.
