A traditional hat shop that turns heads. With pretty much everything mass produced somewhere far, far away, You don't see too many milliners around these days. Carolien Jones, though, is bucking the trend with her long-standing hat shop, found right under the watchful gaze of Guildford Castle. People travel from miles around to get a fancy lid here, such is the Mad Hatter's reputation. The shop stocks hats from a wide selection of British and international designers (including Chapeaux Kiki, Nigel Rayment, Vivian Sheriff, Balfour, Anna Daventry and Your Gorgeous), and a bespoke service is also available. Although hats are, obviously, Carolien's specialist area, there are other stylised and unique accessories available here, from fantastic fascinators to awesome umbrellas and parasols, great gloves, posh pashminas and hot handbags. Blokes can get in on the action too, with panamas for the summer and trilby hats for winter.
