The One Elm
1 Guild Street Stratford-Upon-Avon Warwickshire CV37 6QZ
A short stroll from the town centre, just round the corner from Shakespeare’s birthplace, this gastro pub may not be in the prettiest of settings but the relaxed atmosphere and fabulous menu more than make up for it. The interior is more reminiscent of a tea shop than a pub (think patterns, florals and painted tables), but its light and bright and very welcoming. There is an outdoor semi-covered terrace at the rear as well as a more formal restaurant area, and the food is (in the main) locally soured, seasonal and free range, and the menu is changed regularly. Sharing deli boards (meat, fish, cheese, veggie) are a regular feature and they includes some great pub classics, generally with a twist - check out the "hanging kebabs".
