Deep in the heart of the Cotswolds, near the charming village of Broadway, the rolling fields and wooded hills of the sprawling Farncombe Estate, are home to a number of rather grand hotels, the latest of which – the Fish Hotel – tucks into the hillside, with wide views of the valley below and a set of appealing rooms and suites decorated in a crisp and modern style. Divided between the Farmhouse, Coach House, Stables and outhouse, the rooms are extremely comfortable; but the grounds are also home to a number of deluxe ‘Hideaway Huts’ with underfloor heating, private hot tubs, en-suite bathrooms and wood-burning stoves, along with several treehouses, which have all the conveniences of the huts plus access by a rope bridge and a wooded setting. One of the treehouses is dog friendly, as are several of the hotel bedrooms, and hounds are also permitted in the bar and the lounge of the hotel and throughout the grounds of the estate, making walkies pretty much a cinch for lazy dog-owners. Dogs also get a bed, 2 dog bowls, a towel and a pack of doggie treats in their room. They even have a dog agility course for the energetic hound and can provide a special dog’s dinner for particularly pampered pooches.
