Opened in 1986, the Swan Theatre is a beautiful and intimate theatre, seating just 450 people on three sides of a deep-thrust stage. Situated within the main RSC building on the waterfront, it now shares a box office, bars and restaurants with its more famous sibling, the RSC Theatre.

Behind the Scenes Tour - Explore the public and private areas of the theatre and learn about origins of the RSC and the theatre making process. Price – adults £7.50, under 18’s £3.
Front of House Tour – Go on a journey to learn about the humble beginnings of the theatre in 1879 through to it’s recent transformation. Learn behind the scenes secrets as to how costumes are made and how effects are achieved. Price - adults £5, under 18’s £2.50
Aimed at junior visitors (6-12 year olds), Family Tours explore the RSC plays, the theatre making process and Shakespeare. Uncover some behind the scenes secrets - how costumes are made and effects achieved, and get your hands on some of their props! Price – adults £6.50, under 18’s £3.
After Dark Tours - Learn about the grey lady and other RSC phantoms on a post performance ghost tour. After the evening performance, when the theatre has emptied, you’ll get the opportunity to explore all areas of the theatre. Listen for the sound of footsteps in empty rooms and look out for strange figures alleged to have been seen going in and out of the Scott Bar. Price – adults £6.50, under 18’s £3.
