Whisky distilleries don't come much more fun and friendly than Glengoyne. This whitewashed gem sits just a short drive north of Glasgow, but the hills and forests around give it a Highland feel. They offer a wide range of tours here, from the unusual general introductory tours, through to expensive whisky tastings for connoisseurs and on to more unusual whisky with chocolate tastings and the even more popular 'make your own whisky' option. The latter includes a tour of the distillery with a tasting and then an introduction to the art of blending, before the chance to create your very own bottle of Scotch to take home. You can pop into their well-stocked shop for free.
