George Street and St Andrew Square
George Street Edinburgh.
George Street was designed to be the grand central parade of the New Town, running along the crest of the hill, framed by squares at each end. The banks and august financial institutions that made their self-important presence felt here in the grand buildings that line the street have now been converted into bars, boutique hotels and shops. You'll find Harvey Nichols and the glamorous Multrees Walk precinct, plus many more of the recognisable international luxury clothing, accessory and jewellery brands who have found themselves a place somewhere on or near George Street or St Andrew Square at its eastern end.
