It's easy to get distracted by tweed and tartan, but for everyday clothing that's also closely connected to Scotland, other woollen items are often too quickly overlooked. And, as Ragamuffin, located on a prominent corner halfway down the Royal Mile, proves, knitwear can also be funky, colourful, comfortable and stylish. There's some European influence in some of the designs, but that only proves the cosmopolitan appeal of something that, at heart, feels closely connected to the wild Scottish landscape.
