Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art
75 Belford Road Edinburgh EH4 3DR
Housed in a neo-classical former school, the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art focuses on the art of the 20th and 21st centuries. On display you'll find work by Matisse, Picasso, Bacon, Warhol and Damien Hirst, while the attractive grounds are dotted with sculptures by Moore and Hepworth, as well as a landscape of curving hummocks and ponds by Charles Jencks. The sister Dean Gallery, located on the other side of Bedford Road, features Dada and Surrealist works, along with major sculptures by Edinburgh-born Eduardo Paolozzi and recent Turner Prize-winner Richard Wright.
