Head to the foothills of the Preseli mountains and discover Aros yn Pentre Glas, a handsome property that’s home to two special places to stay: Y Caban bach, a cosy wooden cabin, and Y Panorama, a 1968 converted Bedford Plaxton bus. Located in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, it’s a scenic spot to spend some time, among the soaring red kites and chirping stonechats.
One-bed Y Caban bach is a cosy chalet-like cabin, complete with power, double bed, and a veranda for making the most of balmy evenings. Fancy whipping up a meal? There’s a fully equipped kitchenette next to the cabin with a gas oven, grill and fridge. Y Panorama, on the other hand, is a four-berth open-plan vehicle with a double bed and large futon. There’s a kitchen kitted out with all of the essentials and a wood-burning stove for warmth on a cold night. The unique automobile has been lovingly restored, it’s a unique place to stay indeed. Both units have private alfresco space – light up the bbq and enjoy the stunning scenery with a juicy burger and an ice cold beer. Ablution-wise, there’s a communal block with two separate shower rooms, non-chemical washing products and a well-maintained compost toilet.
On rainy days, there’s an old cow shed to take refuge in and play a game of pool or table tennis, as well as a chill area and courtyard garden. Or why not book in a session with on-site yoga teacher Gilly? But when the sun shines, it’s time to get out and explore; stroll the Golden Road, a seven-mile gently undulating walk across the spine of the Preseli Hills or hit the scenic coastal footpath. Feeling revitalised, head back to Aros yn Pentre Glas to relax.
