It’s not only us humans who are at home here either. Ty Sherwood has won national awards for just how dog-friendly it is. The family who manage this holiday home are passionate about pooches and it shows. They provide a welcome pack for animal companions as well as people, containing all the doggy bits and bobs you’ll need for your stay. The house is also just a short walk from dog-friendly Poppit Sands and positioned in St Dogmaels at the very start of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path National Trail. Walkies and waggy tails are pretty much guaranteed!
The property is positioned near the mouth of the Teifi Estuary, and the tides create ever-changing views. You can watch the drama from the kitchen and dining room of your holiday home, which lead onto the deck via bifold doors. This is the sociable heart of a house that sleeps seven in four bedrooms; two have waterside views. The Captain’s Suite is, as the name suggests, the best of the lot with a super-king-size bed and an en-suite with a rainfall shower. The other 'grown-up' bedrooms are the Teifi Room, with a king-size bed, and the Cwtch, a cosy double overlooking the estuary. Poppit’s bunkbeds make it most suitable for children.
Part of the Plas Llangoedmor estate, Ty Sherwood is located in the perfect spot to make the most of both Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion. Turn right and within a pebble’s throw of the front door you reach the village’s jetty from where you can take a boat trip out into Cardigan Bay to see dolphins or set out on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Turn left and you can walk into St Dogmaels village or a bit further into Cardigan town. Closer than all that, just a few doors down in fact, is The Ferry Inn, a handy spot if you fancy dining out. It shares similar views to your house – and, rather handily, it's dog-friendly as well!
