Set in the idyllic wooded Ceri valley, the six/eight-berth safari tents at Felin Geri provide the perfect opportunity to take a step back and live life at your own pace, with hosts Alan and Jane Worley on hand to help you discover this 24-acre paradise of woodland, water, wildlife and some of the UK's darkest 'Dark Skies'. The name means 'Ceri Mill', and there's still a mill here today, a grade-II listed structure built in the 1500s to harness the energy of the Ceri river, which flows through this beautiful part of western Wales. It's a perfect spot for a family, but groups of friends and even romantically entwined couples will enjoy Felin Geri: the accommodation is as luxurious as glamping gets, and you can do as much or as little as you want, with lots of facilities on site and a host of outdoor activities and places of interest to visit in the surrounding area.
First, your accommodation. Each tent has an open-plan living space with sectioned-off sleeping areas for up to six people, with a separate double bedroom, a twin-bedded room, plus a Scottish cabin bed for two. Good quality linen, duvets and towels are all included, and outside there's a covered verandah on which to enjoy a sundowner while watching and listening to the local wildlife, or watching the children play.
The kitchen area is equipped with all the pots, pans and utensils you might need, and there's a cool box to keep things cold. There's a shower room and toilet located at the back of each tent, while hot water is provided by a wood-fired boiler that takes about half an hour to heat. A wood-burning stove keeps you warm while simultaneously doubling up as an oven – and there's a plentiful supply of wood to keep it going – and a series of battery-powered mobile hurricane lamps provide the light you'll need to play the board games that come with each tent. Two of the tents also have brand-new hot tubs – Teifi, with its back to nature wood-burning tub, and Ceri, which has a Hot Springs Spa.
The Pantry shop can supply all your food needs, and there's a café and bar on site serving breakfast and light lunches (plus it has wifi). Well-behaved dogs are welcome all over the site, and there are loads of footpaths to explore in the surrounding area, not to mention a number of dog-friendly beaches down on the coast in nearby Cardigan Bay.
Finally, Felin Geri aims to have as little environmental impact as possible with a state-of-the art water recycling system and marked bins for recyclable items. It's also one of the aims of Alan and Jane to restore the original mill to working order and preserve it as a museum. Another reason to book a visit to this beautifully situated, brilliantly equipped and entirely delightful glamping site.

Location
Getting There
Felin Geri is 45 minutes from the western end of the M4, so is easily accessible; the M5/M4 junction is only 2 hours away, and the A487 coast road also provides easy access from north and southwest Wales.
From the A487, turn off the A487 onto the B4333 at Tanygroes and follow the road until you reach Cwm Cou. Continue through the village and turn left to Felin Geri, just before you leave the village. From Newcastle Emlyn, drive through the town centre and cross the river over the Teifi bridge; take the first exit at the mini roundabout towards Newquay and almost immediately turn left on to the B4333 towards Aberporth. After approximately 1.5 miles you will reach Cwm Cou, where you turn right to Felin Geri.
