Part of the excellent Norfolk Broads Direct group, Broads Tours hires out self-drive day boats and also runs river trips by day and in the evening on four well-appointed passenger cruisers. Day boats can be hired by the hour, half-day or day and come with a range of facilities, with the larger vessels having toilets and tea-making facilities. They also have a range of more environmentally friendly electric-powered day boats. As for the tours, these take an hour, 90 minutes or two hours and take in Wroxham Broad, sometimes Salhouse Broad, a little further upriver, and a few go as far as Horning. They are fully accessible and dog-friendly, and take in a commentary delivered by a knowledgable skipper, who points out all the major points of interest along the way, including a lot of the birds and local wildlife. The boats also have toilets and a fully licensed bar that serves tea and coffee and cakes. Consider taking an evening cruise, either with live jazz music or a disco, and watch the sun set as you dance.
