The tiny and exceedingly pretty hamlet of Burnham Thorpe was the birthplace of Nelson, and although the rectory where he was born was demolished long ago, the local church has an intriguing display on his life and times. The lectern is made out of timbers taken from Nelson’s flagship, the Victory.
