We think Magazine Wood is pretty special. With its wonderful North Norfolk location, it already has a lot going for it, but what makes this property really stand out from the crowd is its USP – a charming country B&B that also offers the things we love about a boutique hotel, such as privacy and a high level of service. Talk about the best of both worlds! Just a few miles from the coast (on a clear day you can see across the Wash to Lincolnshire), this award-winning bolthole is a place to escape – somewhere you can really relax and switch off.
The three luxurious suites are completely self-contained; they all enjoy a private entrance and views to the large manicured garden, and each room is stylishly decorated – you'll find soothing colours, tasteful fabrics and super comfy beds, and each room has its own terrace with outside seating. There's a fridge stocked with essentials, a sofa and dining table, binoculars for bird watching, Netflix and a continental breakfast delivered to your room. You can order a hot breakfast if you want one, indeed if you need anything, just pick up the phone – owners Jonathan and Pip are always on hand, indeed they are a kmine of information on the best paces to eat and drink nearby (and there are loads!).
Fancy a spa treatment? They've got you covered: you can be pampered in the comfort of your own room. But if you prefer to get out and about, there's plenty to do – shop at Burnham Market, visit nearby grand stately homes Houghton Hall and Sandringham, or head out for a scenic walk. Go north out of the gate onto the Peddars Way National Trail and the breathtaking views will take you to the quiet beach of Holme-next-Sea; stroll west for 15 minutes and you'll reach the village of Sedgeford, where you can pop into the King William for a pint and a bite to eat (if you've got a sweet tooth, don't miss the chocolate and coffee tart). Back at Magazine Wood, grab a glass of wine or a beer from the fridge, sit out on the terrace and enjoy the sunset – they’re pretty spectacular in this part of the country.
