Situated in a prime location on the popular North Norfolk Coast, right across from Brancaster Staithe harbour and beach, the Jolly Sailors is a proper village local, indeed it was once voted the nation’s favourite family pub – and with good reason! For a start, everyone is welcome – dogs, kids, muddy boots, bikers, hikers and beach bums. Secondly, they serve great food to both locals and visitors, host regular live music during summer and in general the pub boasts a, salty, relaxed sort of vibe that sits perfectly with its lovely seaside location.
The Jolly Sailors is a year-round pub – cosy off-season, when there's usually an open fire, while during the summer months it's nice to enjoy the garden, which has a massive kids' play area, deckchairs and other seating. They serve small-batch Brancaster Brewery Ales from their own microbrewery (which they supply to their other, fancier place, The White Horse, just up the road) – popular brews include ‘Brancaster Best’, ‘Oyster Catcher’ and ‘The Wreck’ – along with excellent home-cooked food that includes great pizzas, local fish and seafood and an array of pub classics. They even have their own smokehouse, rustling up delights like pulled pork and other delicious barbecue staples. Finally, in keeping with their name, they also offer the largest selection of rums on the coast!
