Just a short walk from the beach in Heacham, this cluster of chalets and B&B rooms is the ideal place to stay if you're the sort of person who likes to race down to the beach every morning. There's not much to Heacham itself, but it has a wonderful sandy beach, and the B&B rooms and chalets here are an ideal spot from which to enjoy it – without having to drive, endure a queue for parking or all the other inconveniences of a seaside summer. This former dairy farm is also wonderfully unique, with four B&B rooms and four one-room chalets spread around a communal courtyard that's shared with pecking chickens and a couple of self-catering cottages. It feels wonderfully rural, but it’s the sea air that brings most people here, to a coastal location that could barely be closer to the sea.

The B&B rooms are brightly furnished i a contemporary country style, with comfy beds, Smart TVs and WiFi, tea and coffee-making facilities and en-suite bathrooms with showers; and they're all dog-friendly too – handy because Heacham's beach welcomes dog all year round. They also have four chalet rooms with their own entrance and front decking, which you can occupy on a self-catering or B&B basis. A skylight lets in plenty of natural light during the day and offers lovely views of the night sky after dark, and each chalet comes with a double bed, WiFI and a Smart TV, an en-suite toilet and shower kitchenette and a dining table and kitchenette with a microwave, kettle, and fridge so you can cook simple meals. Buffet continental breakfasts are served in a separate dining room every morning.

Each room or chalet comes with a parking space, although once here you could store your car keys in a drawer – the beach is so close, Heacham has a handful of shops and pubs, plus it only takes an hour or so to walk to the attractive resort of Hunstanton, with its own beaches, shops, pubs and restaurants. The B&B is located on the edge also on the edge of a local rewilding project at Wild Ken Hill and is only five miles from the wonderful RSPB reserve at Snettisham, which overlooks The Wash, although this is more easily accessed by car. Consider jumping in the car, too, to visit Sandringham, which is only seven miles to the south.
