This stylish five-bedroom holiday home is found on one of the most elegant streets in one of North Yorkshire’s loveliest market towns. 30 Frenchgate sits close to the historic centre of Richmond, within walking distance of its market place, castle and restaurants. And yet, it also boasts wonderful views of the Yorkshire Dales. It’s an ideal base for groups of up to 10 who want to holiday in style with amenities on the doorstep and adventure in easy reach.

The Georgian facade of 30 Frenchgate overlooks this hillside street’s cobbles. Behind its big bay windows there's more than you might expect. It has five generously-sized bedrooms, two with proper en-suite bathrooms and one with an en suite loo. Four of the five bedrooms can be configured as super-king-size rooms or twins, meaning it's ideal for group getaways. And there’s a shared family bathroom too. There’s a large farmhouse kitchen and separate but connected living and dining rooms, each big enough to sit all guests. Tasteful design flourishes marry the property's Georgian heritage with modern comfort.

But, perhaps the biggest surprise, is the view outside which takes your eye from the city into the Dales, more specifically the stunning Swaledale. A lovely terraced garden sits alongside the neighbouring St Mary’s Church, and from the top terrace you can see for miles; at the bottom there’s a peaceful suntrap in which you'll also find the hot tub. There's garden furniture and a gas barbecue for an al fresco feast. Or if you don't fancy cooking, there's a cracking restaurant, La Piazza, a few minutes' walk away.

Tempting as it may be to spend your days indoors here, there's a wealth of great places to explore too. Richmond’s heart is Market Place from where you can wander off in any direction to find the treasures of the town, which is touted as the ‘Gateway to the Dales’ – a perfect base for walking, cycling, sightseeing and plenty more.

From the A1 head towards Richmond via the A6055 and the B6272. Once in Richmond, take a slight left on to the A6108 to keep heading towards the centre. At the roundabout take the first exit on to Dundas Street and then the first left on to Frenchgate. The property will be on the right. Parking is on street on the left.
