Known as the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, Leyburn is a quaint cobbled market town surrounded by countryside. Just four miles from there you'll discover Spindrifter, a hot tub cabin that's part of Sun Hill Lodges, a cluster of bespoke properties set in lovely grounds. Ideal for couples seeking a romantic retreat, the charming one-bedroom holiday home is stylish and super-comfy, with an open-plan layout and a spacious garden. Set on one level, the chalet-style structure is wooden inside and out, creating a cosy atmosphere – enhanced by the wood burner you can make the most of on colder days. On warmer ones, fling open the numerous glass doors and let the outdoors in, or head onto the covered terrace where your very own hot tub is waiting to be dipped in.

Back indoors, the slick black and white kitchen is compact but contains everything you need, including a microwave, oven, gas hob, and sleek Smeg fridge-freezer, plus essentials like a kettle and toaster. Whether you're relaxing on the sofa watching a film or sitting at the dining table enjoying a bite to eat, you can admire the Yorkshire hills views – you may even spot a roaming horse. Adjoining is the king-size bedroom – also with glass doors for taking in more of those scenic outlooks. Completing the picture is the roomy en-suite with a large walk-in shower.

A dreamy getaway for two (or three if you count your dog), you may find it hard to tear yourself away. But if you do fancy a day trip or two, nearby Leyburn is home to an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, the racing town of Middleham is three miles away, and Hawes, Richmond and Bedale are within easy reach. Cheese lovers will no doubt visit Wensleydale, and walkers will be in their element exploring the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Then back to Spindrifter for an al fresco meal or drink on the deck with the fire pit to keep you toasty.
