It's a glamping site, but not as we know it, Jim. Indeed if anywhere can claim to have put the glam into glamping, it's Hedgerow Luxury Glamping, which as the name suggests has ramped up the outdoors experience so much that you'll probably find more creature comforts here than at home, with the added bonus of a rural location on a working farm and stunning countryside views.
Hedgerow has three en-suite pods, each named after wildflower and looking out across Lancashire's Ribble Valley, with a pond and flower-filled meadow in the foreground. Each has a private patio with bistro-style furniture, a hot tub and a firepit to help make the most of those far-reaching vistas. Super-luxurious Daisy also has a covered deck which means you can enjoy outdoor living whatever the weather but in any case each pod's floor-to-ceiling windows mean you can enjoy the views from the comfort of your king-size bed – and there’s even a solar powered window in the roof of each pod for stargazing. Each has a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, slow cooker and hob, and owners Hilary and Mark offer Firepit Kits, barbecue and other packages which mean the fridge, cupboards and log store can be stocked on arrival. Each pod has a hot tub, and there's also wifi, a Bluetooth speaker system, a Smart TV and underfloor heating. As we said, all the comforts of home, and then some!
These luxury pods are a place for couples to kick back and relax – adults-only and pet-free. It's not back-to-basics and doesn't try to be. As Hilary puts it: 'This is modern living in the heart of the country.' We wouldn't blame you if you simply soaked in the hot tub, dined under the stars and curled up with a good book. But if you can drag yourself away there’s plenty to see in the surrounding area: the market towns of Settle, Skipton and Clitheroe all repay a visit, and you also have no less than two national parks on your doorstep in the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.
