You couldn't get more Yorkshire than Hollow Gill Huts – a delightful trio of luxury Shepherds Huts on a working farm on the fringes of the Yorkshire Dales. Not only do they enjoy a spectacular location, these oak-clad huts are so beautifully made that they look as if they have always been here. However, make no mistake – they are in fact a very much a 21st century phenomenon, with all the modern amenities luxury glampers look for and a few more besides!
Located amid a series of villages with cute names – up the road from Wigglesworth, close to the babbling river Ribble and not far from a train station at Giggleswick – each of the huts is named after a local breeds of sheep, so you can choose from the slightly larger Swaledale and Wensleydale huts and the slightly more intimate Dalesbred option. They all come with a kitchenette, Smart TVs, wifi and a great mobile signal, underfloor heating, double beds and their own en-suite shower rooms. Swaledale and Wensleydale have bunk beds which are perfect for two children and can be folded up to make a comfortable sofa. Dalesbred is only really suitable for couples and has a log burner to keep things super-cosy! Outside, all three have their own patio area with outdoor seating and a fire bowl.
The huts sit against the sheltered backdrop of a mature woodland, looking out across the working farm they are part of. You might have a view of grazing sheep or cattle to the fore with rolling dales filling the middle ground and the high peaks of Pen-y-Ghent and Ingleborough in the far distance. Together with Whernside, which is a little further away, these mountains form Yorkshire’s "three peaks” – a challenging route that’s been the subject of many a fundraiser and provides great hiking opportunities in this area that’s frankly not short on options. In fact, instead of driving the six miles to the launch point for the three peaks, you might like to simply step out the front door and onto the Ribbleway long-distance footpath, which follows the route of the river and goes right through the farm. If you’ve got the stamina, keep walking for 4 miles to the lovely market town of Settle, or if you’re not in the mood to walk, drive there to pick up supplies from its butchers and bakers. To the west is the Forest of Bowland, to the east, the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The Owner Says
We are Pete and Emma Stephenson and we are delighted to share our beautiful countryside and farm as we welcome you to Hollow Gill Huts. The glamping site is based on our tenanted farm on the outskirts of the small village of Rathmell near Settle, North Yorkshire. We have lived in the area for over 10 years, starting dales life in Horton-in-Ribblesdale onwards to a small farm in Settle and finally settling here at Far Cappleside three years ago.
It’s been our dream to have our own site ever since we stayed in a shepherd’s hut on our own family holiday. We can’t wait to welcome you to our piece of heaven in our beautiful part of the countryside.
