If we say your room with a view at The Old Station is of the railway line, you may not be overly impressed. But when the railway line is the Settle–Carlisle route, and your room is inside what was once a train station, you begin to see why we love this lovely property. Formerly known as Tudor House, the old station at Bell Busk – just four miles from Malham in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales – closed in 1959 and has been a B&B since the 1970s, offering a genuinely unique experience as the regular service trains and special steam excursions whoosh right past several times a day. It's a terrific location by any standards, and an extremely comfortable and welcoming place to stay.
The B&B's three rooms – Malhamdale, Swaledale and Wensleydale – are all de-luxe doubles with en-suite bathrooms. Malhamdale is a spacious room with an en-suite bathroom with large bath and walk-in shower and lovely views over lower Malhamdale; Swaledale has a king-size double bed and en-suite shower room and dual aspect views; while Wensleydale is another large room with king-size bed and views over the Settle-Carlisle railway – one for steam enthusiasts! With an acre of mature gardens outside – all you need is the Settle–Carlisle timetable to work out the best times for a most unusual holiday snap from the privacy of your own bedroom.
