Nestled in a private corner of a working dairy farm on the edge of the Forest of Bowland AONB and less than 2 miles away from the boundary of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, nature lovers and outdoors types will love this beautifully situated glamping site. Reluctant glampers may love it too, given the level of comfort it provides, with 5 fully insulated, cedar-clad pods arranged to offer a sliding scale of luxury depending on your inclination and budget.
Each pod can comfortably sleep 4 people, with room for a little one at a push. They all boast their own, excellently equipped kitchenette, a double bed and sofa bed, a deck and a patio area with a fire pit for barbecues; they also all have WiFi, Smart TVs and underfloor heating. Two of the pods are just a few steps away from their own private bathrooms, with a shower, toilet and basin, and they also have private hot tubs. Another pod comes fully en-suite, for those who just can’t handle the stroll, and also features a covered patio area with wonderful views and a charcoal BBQ. The excellent and sought-after remaining pods not only have en-suite bathrooms but also come with their own hot tubs. Fire pit packs are available to buy, so you can warm your toes on the terrace as the sun sets over the Yorkshire hills, while cows peep their heads teasingly over the fence during summer. There’s also a covered communal area called 'The Hub', with tables, seating and games to play, plus a large cast iron fire pit, a Weber charcoal barbeque, and a Gozney gas pizza oven. It’s an excellent spot to socialise – and heated, too.
The Brennand family has been farming the gorgeous landscape here for three generations, yet somehow – perhaps due to its proximity to the better-known Dales – its charms have slipped beneath the radar. However, whether you’re a walker, mountain biker, or you just like taking in sumptuous scenery from the comfort of your hot tub, you'll feel right at home as soon as you arrive. Indeed, Peaks and Pods is more like compact, self-catered living than glamping or camping, yet as soon as fling open the double-glazed doors of your pod, you're immediately part of the great outdoors. Outdoor adventurers are the most obvious folk to enjoy it here, so it’s no surprise the Brennands have provided every pod with a box for muddy boots; they also have a power hose and wall racks for bike maintenance. Spin a few miles west to Gisburn Forest, one of Forestry England’s mountain biking destinations, or simply stride out on the footpath from the farm. It’s all on your pod-step, whichever direction you choose.

It's just five miles to Gisburn Forest, a Mecca for mountain bikers, perfect for an adrenaline-packed ride or a family-friendly pedal. Most trails start from Gisburn Forest Hub (01200 446747) with car park, toilets, picnic area and café. While you're there, a walk round the beautiful reservoir is a must. Excellent local market towns include Settle, Clitheroe, Skipton and Kirkby Lonsdale – all only a short journey away. Hop aboard a waggon on the Settle-Carlisle Railway (01729 825888) – England's most scenic train line is the claim – or take on the famous walking routes around Malham Cove and Tarn, where you can hop across the unique limestone rocks like a bug on giant puzzle pieces. The most hardy walkers can take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks (in a day) – Whernside, Ingleborough and Penyghent – enjoying Ribblehead Viaduct en route (a worthy landmark to walk to in itself).Food & Drink

The Owner Says
We're Joanne and John and we have opened up a corner of our dairy farm between the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland. Three generations of our family live and work on the farm and we have put our hearts and souls into creating a bespoke, luxury glamping experience for our outdoor-loving guests.
Our luxury pods are specially-designed to be used all year round, with heating, insulation, double glazing and indoor cooking. You will never feel the cold, or experience broken tent poles and soggy sleeping bags. This is glamping at its best!
At Peaks and Pods we welcome families, couples, friends, cyclists, walkers, countryside lovers and outdoor enthusiasts who want to experience an exciting new place to stay.
The five pods are kitted out with private shower rooms, fully-equipped kitchenettes, pocket-sprung double beds, feather and down duvets and pillows, memory-foam sofa beds, tables and chairs, decked areas, private outdoor spaces with shelters and outdoor dining tables. You can even opt for your own hot tub at four of the pods, all under cover. There's great mobile phone signal, free WiFi and Smart TVs.
Each pod has its own fire bowl on the patio and we supply fire pit and charcoal packs. Fire pits also double as a barbecue with grill and poker, except at The Folds which has its own Weber charcoal barbecue.
Our unique, ranch-style Hub area offers guests a wonderful social space to relax, cook, light a fire, enjoy freshly cooked pizzas from our Gozney oven, barbecue and take in the stunning views. There's a great atmosphere with festoon and fairy lights and you'll create memories you'll never forget.
Visiting cyclists will find facilities for washing, repairing and securely storing their bikes on-site. There's also a laundry, where guests can wash, dry and iron, and you'll find outdoor games and information leaflets too.
We're a 'green' business and have a Gold Award from Green Tourism. Electricity is provided by a wind turbine and solar panels, our hot tubs are heated using air source heat pumps and renewable energy. We encourage our guests to recycle and we provide environmentally-friendly cleaning products in every pod.
We believe that it is important that you can tailor-make your own experience, adding as many or as few extras as you want. Our extras allow every stay to be totally bespoke - perfect for your own needs.
We're looking forward to seeing you!
