Wroxham Barns
Tunstead Road Hoveton NR12 8QU
About a mile north Hoveton, the Wroxham Barns is a rural shopping centre and kiddies’ amusement park rolled into one, as well as a good place to come and eat. It’s home to various craft shops and galleries, including a really good art shop selling local paintings and photographs, a decent food store, The Pantry, a garden centre and a micro-brewery, Uncle Stuart’s, which sells its products direct (along with other local beers) and runs a small café. It’s also home to a small “junior farm” with goats, sheep, cows, pigs and donkeys to pet and feed, a small funfair and mini golf course, and an excellent daytime restaurant, which is a destination in its own right, serving morning coffee and cakes, afternoon teas, and a regularly changing lunch menu that is full of locally-sourced, beautifully cooked imaginative specials. Service is excellent, but you may need to book – it’s popular, and regularly besieged throughout the summer months.
