Bowgie Inn
West Pentire Crantock Newquay TR8 5SE
Its bright pink exterior overlooking the crashing Atlantic and Pentire Head, the famous Bowgie Inn sits out of town in a cracking location. Welcoming families, coast path walkers and groups looking for a party atmosphere, there’s a traditional-style Pigsty Bar, a contemporary Ocean Bar, a heated terrace, and a conservatory adjoining a games lounge with a pool table and giant Connect4. The food is average pub-grub – and can be somewhat overpriced – but at least there's Cornish produce and local ales on the menu. There's plenty of live music sessions too. And if you're taking a stroll on Crantock Beach or heading south from Newquay on the South West Coast Path, there's no better stopping point for a hearty Sunday lunch.
