The circular Pentire
Penthouse apartment overlooks Newquay’s iconic Fistral Beach, quite simply one of the best surfing beaches (with the most consistent waves) in the UK or even Europe. This sophisticated, thoughtfully designed property is full of mid-century retro furniture and quirky design touches that make it ideal for families or groups of friends who fancy a spot of designer luxury. It has amazing views, and sleeps eight in four en-suite double bedrooms, with two extra beds available on request. The bedrooms are top-notch – super-kingsize beds, 400-thread-count Egyptian cotton bedding, down surround pillows and feather duvets – and it's even more stunning when you venture up the glass staircase to the enormous open-plan, Bond-style circular kitchen/living/dining room with wraparound glass walls. The best thing of all though is the huge roof terrace, from which you
can see awe-inspiring pink and orange sunsets – a sight you can share
from the comfort of your very own eight-person hot tub. Now that’s what we call
spoiling yourselves.
The Penthouse is just five minutes' walk across the headland to the stunning white sands of National Trust-owned Crantock Beach, which was voted 'Best British Beach' by Coast in 2013 and also has a reputation for great surf, while nearby Newquay not only has a decent stock of restaurants and nightlife but also loads of activities to keep kids happy – the seafront Blue Reef Aquarium features an underwater tunnel through a coral-reef filled tank of pufferfish, sharks and ray, and Newquay Zoo is home to lions, wildebeest and ever-popular sloths.
