The Hub at Quarry Farm
Quarry Farm Bodiam East Sussex TN32 5RA 01580
The brainchild of our friends at the Original Hut Company, The Hub is one of those places based on such a simple idea that you wonder why it's not a lot more common – basically an old barn that has been re-purposed to house a café, a meeting and activities space and a selection of brilliant shops selling local produce, arts and crafts and gifts. It's not only a facility for the campsite but a valuable resource for the local community, who get to use it as a place to eat, drink, shop and do all sorts of other things – sort of like a local shopping centre, but a sustainable version that's of genuine benefit to local people and visitors alike. You can buy local art, pottery from a nearby studio, candles handmade in nearby St Leonards, not to mention an array of fabulous food items, from local charcuterie to bread from the nearby Lighthouse bakery to some of the best sausages, pasties and pies you'll ever eat. And once you've you've shopped, you can drop into one of the comfy seats in the café and enjoy a decent coffee and a cookie or slice of homemade cake. The Hub also runs regular fitness sessions, creches and mother-and-toddler groups as well as regular seasonal events; they even have an on-site spa, offering massages and other treatments as well as a host of beautiful natural spa products. In short, there is always something going on at The Hub, which has improved what was already a pretty wonderful glamping site but is also a great addition to the local area.
