Ivy-clad and looking a bit like the clubhouse of a well-to-do yachting society, White Vine House is renowned for its friendly welcome. The compact house is squeezed into the High Street opposite the mighty George but it more than holds its own, with reasonable rates, an intimate feel and quality food. With four double rooms and two family suites, the hotel can only accommodate up to sixteen guests and with an award-winning restaurant taking up the space downstairs they call themselves 'a restaurant with rooms'. Don't let this fool you into thinking your forgotten, however, guests are well looked after and the rooms provide space and comfort.
