Leather Lane
Leather Lane London EC1N 7TJ
It’s a bit rough-and-ready, and the quality isn’t top-notch, but everyone needs somewhere to buy essentials like batteries and soap, even the cool folk of Clerkenwell, and the handbags and cheap clothes on offer mean you can easily kit yourself about for about £20. The market runs most of the length of Leather Lane between Clerkenwell Road and High Holborn, and is at its busiest at lunchtime when office workers head over and the cafés and food stalls gain some impressive queues. Check out Daddy Donkey, and for a drink the Craft Beer Co. is recommended. Afterwards head round the corner to Hatton Garden to haggle for jewellery, diamonds and gold.
