Located on a quiet road in the very heart of the neighbourhood, it’s a glamorous base for anyone with cash to spend and an impression to make, and attracts a cool crowd of media types and well-to-do hipsters. The decor is flashy and fun, with campy, splashy colours throughout the rooms, and an opulent exotic feel to the lobby (check out the colossal cat). Modern luxury is the key – each of the ninety guest rooms is kitted out with iPod docks, wi-fi, sumptuous linens and posh toiletries, and, with their huge floor-to-ceiling windows, they tend to be gloriously light. International travellers can make the most of the ninety-minute “jet lag treatment”, among a variety of beauty treatments, and if money’s no object you can live the high life in the two-bedroom apartment suites. Great afternoon tea
I was here a few weeks ago for afternoon tea with 10 women for my friend's hen party. They put us in the Library, which was fab - a lovely, quirky room. The staff were brilliant and really went the extra mile to make sure that the hen had a nice time. Scones are to die for...
