The clue is in the name. This hotel prides itself on the sweeping views of London it provides from its top level rooms, which sit high above the maelstrom below, looking down on Regent Street, Oxford Street and the rest of central London. It enjoys a super-swanky location, but the rooms here are relaxed and comfortable, with big windows, simple, retro furnishings and everything you need for a chilled urban stay.
First imporession are mixed: the building itself is a bit ordinary, and the lobby downstairs not particularly inviting. Te fun starts at the 12th floor reception, where you begin to realise that you're staying somewhere pretty special – somewhere that you might not want to leave in a hurry – i you've come to see the sights of London best try somewhere less comfortable! There are several restaurants to keep you here for a start – do as they suggest and 'climb the tree' from good pizza at Pizza Mozza to the bold favours and stunning views of the Mexican-flavoured Madera, and – not least by any means – the hotel's brilliant rooftop bar, The Nest, which has perhaps the best views of all.
The rooms are spacious and stylish and range from the smallest 'Fort' to 'Lookout' and 'Skyline'. They all come with king-size beds, big comfy beds, Smart TVs, minibars and room service, USB points and good WiFi, and ensuite bathrooms with rainfall showers. Some are dog-friendly – indeed they even host regular events focused o guests and their pets, along with other events featuring guest DJs, yoga instructors and (we're not kidding) fire-eaters. It's perhaps the capital's highest and hippest place to stay, and also one of its most sustainable, with filtered water stations on guest room floors, an emphasis on recycling and composting and eco-friendly energy and water management systems.
