The slickest of Cumbria’s independent breweries has a fab bar and bistro attached to the brewery in the Mill Yard at Staveley. It’s a big, open-plan, contemporary bar where you can look right onto the brewing vats, and staff are happy to offer tasters and tips when it comes to picking a tipple. Tapas and bar meals are matched to the beers, and there are regular gigs and other events, so it’s a cracking place all round. Come on Saturdays at 2pm (and possibly other days in summer) and you’ll get a brewery tour and a pint for £6.50.
