Bluebird Restaurant
350 King's Road London SW3 5UU
The Bluebird restaurant, upstairs in this uber-stylish venue which also boasts a bar, fine courtyard café, bakery, food store and wine cellar, is decked out in rich red and sumptuous chocolate brown decor that tips a wink to the days when this building was a chic Art Deco garage, built for the eponymous Bluebird Motor Company. The menu features upmarket British staples such as Denham estate venison and slow roast Goosnargh duck mixed with French classics like steak tartare (prepared, with much theatre, at the table) and Chateaubriand. Puddings are memorable – try the dark chocolate fondant – and the wine list is extensive enough for even the most demanding oenophile.
