The Bell and Crown
11–13 Thames Rd Strand on the Green London W4 3PL
The Bell and Crown is probably the most popular of the pubs along this stretch, competing with the Bull's Head and the City Barge up the other end near Grove Park. One of the reasons may be the proximity to the offices around Kew Bridge. But it is genuinely the best for sitting out in the evening sunshine and soaking up the last of the rays, and on beautiful evenings hundreds of people sit out and do just that, chewing the fat while supping decent Fuller's ales and eating good if unremarkable grub – burgers, sausages, fish and chips, etc. If you are looking for a good pub by the river where you can sit outside on a south facing terrace - this is hard to beat.
