Situated in the heart of Blackheath village, southeast London, this is as authentic a French bakery and patisserie as you'll find anywhere in London, with buttery and light croissants and fabulous bread from crunchy baguettes to their big round and succulent campaillous, all of which are baked on the premises. It's all quite hard to resist if we're honest, and it has a few tables (outside and in) if you want to re-live your favourite French holidays with a coffee and a home-baked madeleine while watching the good people of Blackheath go about their business. Their savouries are great, too – savoury brioches, spongy French-style slices of pizza and, in a nod to their location, fabulously more-ish Cumberland sausage rolls. For coffee on the run they also have a smaller branch at the other end of the village, past the station. As perhaps is obvious, it's a bit of a favourite of ours.
